Creating handmade Christmas cards is a great way to personalize gift-giving. But, not everyone has the artistic ability to do so and that’s what makes these beautiful handmade Christmas cards using Qtips a great way to create unique cards for Christmas.
As I was perusing Pinterest I came across the following image that piqued my curiosity. Mainly, because it looked like a DIY I could totally handle since I cannot draw to save my life. {you can click the picture to see the tutorial on KARIN & FREJA‘s blog}.
Qtip Christmas Cards + Wax Seals
- Acrylic Paint
- Q-tips
- Toilet paper roll
- Rubber bands
- Blank Christmas Cards + Envelopes
- Wax seal kit
- Metallic Pens
This Handmade Qtip Christmas card couldn’t be any easier to create. All you have to do is wrap the Qtips around the toilet paper roll and secure them with a rubber band.
I can’t stress this enough, do a few tests on a napkin or sheet of paper before you stamp the actual cards. This way you can determine how much paint you need on the Qtips to get the desired look. When creating mine, I first applied the matte green to the card using the Qtip stamp and once it was dry, I applied the metallic green on top.

To seal the envelopes I used wax and Christmas-themed stamps. This was my first time using wax to seal an envelope and it was a lot of fun.
The fun part of creating wax seals is seeing how the imprint looks after you stamp the wax. Mixing different colors of wax is fun too. Each stamp comes out looking a little different every time you create one.
To bring out the detail of the stamp, metallic pens do a great job of highlighting the beautiful design.
