In my home, I love styling with aged and vintage home décor that tells a story. Aged vessels are a beautiful way to add character to any home but, depending on their size, can be a little pricey. So, to save a ton of money, I found inspiration from Restoration Hardware and created a few easy and beautiful DIY dupes.
I’m a fairly new “plant mom” but I knew I wanted to create a few beautiful “homes” for my plants. I found a couple of vessels at my local thrift store to age to look more like Restoration Hardware vessels.
I gave all of the vessels a coat of paint and allowed them to dry before moving onto the next step. Once the paint is dry, you will want to use either dirt or even what I used – powdered cement. You do not want to add water to the dirt or cement; you will want to rub this on dry. After you rub a good coat onto the vessels, you will want to give a coat of clear spray paint over the dirt, allow it to dry, then add another coat of dirt and spray a final coat of clear spray to secure the dirt onto the vessels.
Once the vessels were dry, I added my “plant babies” to their new homes and I love how beautifully aged these look and how easy they were to create.
