In the journey to makeover my entryway, I came up with 3 easy and inexpensive design ideas to change the look of my coat closet. The first thing I did was to take off the doors and remove the shelves that were added a year ago to serve as a storage closet for my overflow of serving and entertaining ware. I managed to purge quite a bit of my serving ware by donating, selling, and only keeping the pieces I truly love and use on a regular basis.
Once I cleared out the closet my next step was to find some inspiration to create a beautiful and aesthetically pleasing design that would flow with the rest of my entryway. This is where I turned to Pinterest to put together my mood board.
After searching for beautiful but inexpensive wallpaper, I found Manhattan Comfort Grayson Asami Texture Wallpaper on Wal-Mart’s website for $20.26 a roll. This wallpaper mimics the look of tweed and grass cloth but at a fraction of the cost.
The application was easy and the finished look is very high-end and stately. I love the dark gray against the Oyster Travertine Peel and Stick Tile we installed in the entryway.
Once the wallpaper was complete, I then created 3 different designs on a mood board to see which design would look better. At the moment I am leaning toward the 2nd design where I add a small chest of drawers to allow for storage of my candles, candle holders, and small seasonal décor.
I am still on the hunt for an inexpensive small chest of drawers or dresser that I can makeover to place inside the closet but for now I am ecstatic at how well the wallpaper has transformed this coat closet.
