I’m going to share exactly how to find the best deals online. I get a lot of requests asking me to share the tips and tricks I use to find items for my home at discount prices and today I’m spilling the beans.
The websites I am going to mention are not in any particular order; these are just websites I go to on a regular basis when I am looking for a discount.
WHERE DO I FIND THE BEST DEALS ONLINE?
- As-is items : QVC & HSN are websites I enjoy visiting when I am looking for home decor. But, there is a trick I use to find deep discounts on their site. Let’s head over to QVC. In the search bar, you will want to enter the words “as-is“. This will bring up all of the as-is products they have on their website. On the left side of the screen, you will see all the categories. Even though we’re several months away from decorating for the holidays, let’s check out their as-is holiday items. Let’s say we’re interested in an as-is Christmas tree; we like how it looks so we add it to our cart. It states whether the item may be a return, vendor sample, or an on-air display and not in its originally manufactured condition. It could state the manufacturer may not honor any original warranty, however, QVC’s standard return policy still applies. Once you agree to the terms, it is now added to your cart. HSN’s as-is products have the same return policy as QVC. I have personally purchased many as-is products from QVC and have even returned as-is products with no issues.
- Amazon : The next website I like to visit is Amazon. When you’re on the Amazon website, you’ll want to click on “today’s deals“. These deals consist of their deal of the day, lightning deals, daily deals, and limited-time sales. These deals don’t last very long and you’re sure to find some great discounts. Beside the “today’s deals” tab you will see other categories. Amazon also has coupons you can apply to certain products. They also carry renewed products that have been inspected and tested and come with the Amazon guarantee. They also have thousands of overstock items in the Amazon outlet. But, some of the deepest discounts I find on Amazon are from the Amazon warehouse. If you have ever shopped on Amazon and while looking for an item you’re interested in you noticed where it says “used” and wondered what that was. It is where a customer returned one of the same items you are looking at and is now sitting in stock at the Amazon warehouse. I have bought Amazon warehouse items myself. What you want to look for is the condition of the product. I personally have only purchased used items that were in like-new condition. By doing this, I saved quite a bit more money rather than purchasing the item brand new. But, if you get the item and decide you don’t want it, Amazon will gladly accept the return of your used item.
- Open Box : The third way I save money on items for my home is by purchasing open box items. There are online stores I like to shop where I can get open-box deals. Wayfair is one place I have purchased open box items. While you’re on Wayfair’s website, click on sale and scroll down until you see their close-out deals and open-box deals. The closeout deals they offer are limited and for each item, you can see how much of the stock has been purchased. If we click on their open-box deals, these are returned and like-new products they sell. Last year I purchased an open box 7.5′ Christmas tree originally priced at $497 but, since it was an open box item, I only paid $41.00. The one thing to keep in mind is Wayfair does not accept returns on their open box items. When I received my Christmas tree, I plugged it in, and all the lights were working. I wasn’t too concerned if the lights didn’t work because I could always string lights on the tree; I was mainly looking for a large tree at a good price. So, if you’re willing to take a chance on a returned item, open-box products are the way to go. Wayfair also has sister companies that include Joss and Main, Birch and Laned, and All Modern. Joss and Main have a discount outlet along with Birch and Lane. All Modern also has a discount outlet along with open-box deals. Keep in mind that the open box deals are NOT returnable.
- Clearance: The next tip I’m sure everyone knows, but that is to always check out the clearance section first. If you’re looking for a particular item, you can always type in the search bar the word “clearance plus the item you’re looking for”. Let’s say we’re looking for pillows. I would type “clearance bedding“. This will save time having to navigate each category to find bedding. This can be done on just about every online retailer.
- Coupon Codes: The fifth trick I use to get the best deal during checkout is by using coupon codes. There are five pop up’s I use to find coupon codes. The 6 pop-ups I use are Rakuten, Coupon Cabin, Honey, Wiki-Buy, Karma, and Amazon Assistant.
- eBay: The last way I save money on items for my home is by searching eBay. You can type into the search bar any item you’re looking for and from there you can sort items by cost, shipping cost, new and used items along with the location of the item. I have personally bought light fixtures, clothing, makeup, camera lenses, and even the DSLR I am using to record this video all from Ebay. It is an excellent source to use to find deep discounts on items you want for your home.
Those are the 6 “tricks” I use to find the best deals online on items for my home along with clothing, makeup, perfume, furniture and so much more. I would say I purchase the majority of items for my home online and have saved a lot of money by doing so.
